    Secessionist leader CK Raut arrested in Janakpur

    ANAKPUR, Feb 2: Police have arrested secessionist leader CK Raut from Janakpur Thursday afternoon.

    Raut who is a permanent resident of Siraha district had been living in a rented room near the old Janakpur Bus Park for the past six months was arrested at around 3 pm today.

    Raut has been arrested at a time when the government was being criticized for doing nothing to people who have been openly talking about disintegrating the country.

    Raut has been campaigning for a separate Madhes state in Terai.

    Siraha district police office had written a letter to the Dhanusha police, asking the latter to arrest Raut. As a result, Raut was arrested today.

    Dhanusha district police chief SP Lalmani Acharya told Republica Online that Raut will be handed over to Siraha police soon.
