Bijaypur Hospital in Dharan after a death of a person during operation

Tension ran high in Bijaypur Hospital in Dharan after a death of a person during operation on Tuesday morning.

Relatives of Amit Joshi, 31 , vandalised the hospital after his death following an appendix operation. Joshi had driven his motorcycle and reached the hospital on Monday evening after abdominal pain and a team of doctors under Dr Roshan Khatiwada performed the appendix surgery on Joshi at around 2 am Tuesday morning. He died shortly afterwards.

Joshi’s relatives claim that the negligence of doctors during operation was the cause of his death. They have demanded compensation for the family and booking of the guilty doctors.

Hospital operator Pankaj Khatiwada refused blaming doctors negligence for Joshi’s death. “His situation was very critical. We tried to save him but we could not,” he said. He said there were no wrongdoings from the hospital but has agreed to provide compensation to the deceased family.
